Now your moving Damian, looks good so far...one thing though, I don't really think the beer cap will work out well for a tire
Joe

Cheers Joe. It's a bit like Where's Wally, there's always a beer cap in the picture somewhere !! That's actually my CA dispenser, I push it down on top and put a couple of drops on thin CA in the dip, then it's easy to dip the toothpick in and get just enough for the job.

Joe...if there's a hobby lobby craft store in your area they sell necklace chains pretty cheap and you could use the 40% off coupon from they're site to make it cheaper.....if you can't find yours in the stash.

Hi guys. Now I suppose this might be a common ailment, but I found myself recently spending more time online, drooling over the builds you guys are putting together, than I was at my workbench. I decided to drag my sorry butt away fom the screen and have a serious go at my DD build today, and by tonight I had it virtually finished. All that's left is the decals and some "weathering" (not sure if that applies to cars), so by tomorrow night I will have some "close to completed" pics, and a few WIP pics, to show you.

Bye for now, D

Hey guys, seriously nice builds going on here. I have to apologize for not being around lately. Work and football are taking up all my spare time. To make matters worse, Friday night my oldest son (Hunter) broke his tibia bone in his varsity game.

Gimmie a couple more weeks and I promise I'll get back to the bench.

Sorry to hear about your son's break, we will him all the best and a speedy recovery. On the plus side you can give him one of your kits and have him clean it up while he's sitting there

All the best,
Joe

Hermon, I'm sorry to hear about Hunter's mishap, send him wishes for a speedy recovery from Clan Rigby !!
And it will be great to see you back at the bench soon mate, I really miss your supportive comments

I got my decalling done and top coat of future, once that's dry I'll get some pre-weathering pics.

Ok you lot, here it is as promised - "Aussie Fireball" - because it's a MOPAR and that's how it will probably end up !!

I still have some weathering to do, and I might give it a flat coat to make it more sinister. The fuel tank has been surgically removed, there's a small tank in the trunk, the exhaust just fell off and was never replaced, so the headers will suffice. For something a bit different I gave the chrome parts a coat of Tamiya Clear Red Acrylic, to keep with the Fireball theme. The decals are from various kits. The hood is open because I still can't get the darn thing to start, so you might have to race without me, or else somebody might want to tow me into the middle of the track so you can all line me up at once !!

Cheers, D

Edit: Do you think I'll get in trouble for putting Revell sponsorship decals on an AMT kit ??

It's awefully quiet here guys, any progress being made ??

I took my Fireball along to a club meeting last night and our camera guru insisted on getting some pics. I still need to do some flat coats and dirtying the thing up to blend the decals, but I think it looks ok !

Damian,
I finally looked up where the heck Sayner WI was, and I see it's way up in the woods there. I don't know where those decals came from, but neat-o!
Everyone, great demolition derby builds. I was too overwhelmed with daily life to fit in this one more group build, but this is fun to watch. Nice work!
thanks,
Sean.

Thanks Bob. Because these Mopar buckets break down so often, I had to colour-code the leads for the left and right banks to save time putting it back together !!

Hi Sean, I picked up a mixed bag of 1/25 and 1/24 decals a while back, so I have no idea what kit they were originally from, sorry mate.

Hellooo?
Is everybody else already done?
Here's what I'm trying to finish by Monday night

Not the greatest kit in the world but you work with what you have

So here's where I'm at now

That's just sexy, ain't it?!
Minor miracle needed!
