That's pretty. Is that foil around the windshield?

Got some more chrome work done. Still a lot to go though.

Looking very nice Jesper, I really like the colour combination and the chrome sets it off nicely.

I like it, Jesper. Big fins & chrome, baby! Ok, so there are no fins on the Hudson, but there's chrome.

I'm still a ways back, but slugging along. Here's the inside and chassis, ready to go.

Yes, this campaign ended almost two months ago. Nonetheless...
I've gotten the body and chassis together, but not without a struggle to keep the windows in, and crunching the wheel skirts in several times by holding it wrong. In this photo, I lost some chrome on the windshield frame during glass assembly...

and it doesn't show well, but cutting out the kit chrome pieces bared some white plastic-- see the hood ornament.

Then, back to basic fitting-and-refitting, I scraped off the body paint on the top of the rear lip, to glue on the rear bumper, then realized it should glue to the vertical face instead, so I sprayed the green into a plastic cap and brushed it back on. Here I've scraped the paint off the correct surface, and ready to glue on the bumper.

I don't normally do car models, but I was impressed with the solid glue points to fit the body to the chassis for this kit. That's always been a conundrum for me. Thanks, Revell!
Cheers!

Dispite some difficulties, it's coming together nicely.

Looking good Sean, great work pushing past those problem spots.

My Caddy build is going backwards. I have stripped off the acrylic paint because I wasn't happy with the finish, now to prime and give it a good rattle-can gloss black coat.

I will post updates as I can.

Cheers, and I hope we all have a great year of modeling for 2017 folks!

Slow but steady progress. Not an easy model to foil. Lots of quite deep grooves and panellines to get the chrome in, without ripping it.

Chrome, how do you do all that chrome? I've got a 57 Chevy Bel Air, with this highlight:
tail feathers
AMT molded in the big chrome features and the smaller ribs in the white area.
I've never done BMF on this scale and have no idea how to do the little ribs. Any suggestions?

My guess du jour is to paint the whole area withe silver or aluminum paint, clear coat it, mask off the big chrome, spray the ivory over the little ribs and then use fine grit 2000-2400, to knock the paint off of the top of the ribs, leaving the 'chrome' behind. Could that work??
