The glass is in, the chrome is on, and I'm one step closer to finishing by Halloween!

Just some interior touch-up & all the exterior "doo-dads".

Almost done! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and this time it's NOT the headlamp of an oncoming train.

Ok, so I'm just trying to get a handle on where everyone is at on their builds. The following members have builds going for this Group Build:

jimb - 1957 Ford Custom
tinbanger - 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Hardtop (complete)
AussieReg - 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
Md72 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
Hwa-Rang - 1953 Hudson Hornet
Windysean - 1950 Oldsmobile Club Coupe
Lokis-tyro - 1959 Plymouth Belvedere
turtle65 - СМЗ-СЗA Серпухов (withdrew)

Does anyone need a little more time? Like maybe two weeks? Or at this point does it really matter?

I think we can add a couple of weeks. Would November 13th or 20th be ok?

I'm really struggling for time, work has gone ballistic with a factory relocation almost complete. I will try to put some time in shortly and see how I go so a couple more weeks at least would help me out !

Jim, loving the '57 Ford, excellent work so far.

Cheers, D

Ok, we'll go until November 20th. That should be enough time.

Thanks, Damian.

And the Fire Chief's Car is done!

I think it came out nicely (if I do say so myself). Is it a contest winner? No. Are there things I would do differently if I build this car again? Yes, but overall I'm pleased with the results.

Happy Halloween! Today marks the end of "regulation play" for the "Fabulous Fifties: Big Fins & Chrome" Group Build. Tomorrow begins "overtime", or "extra innings" for you baseball fans, until November 20th.

See you in the Police Car Group Build!

Interior, engine and undercarriage done.

Body panited in Tamiya maroon and black. Had trouble with the clear coat. Last coat came on grainy Lots of polishing is needed. Have done a lot of polishing after this image was taken, so it looks a lot better now.

Not sure if I will be finished by the 20'th. Another large project is taking a lot of my time.

Very nice job on the Hudson Hornet. The maroon looks great on it. I like your interior.

Yeah, that dashboard and interior is fantastic!!
I'm still hanging around, although I haven't sat down to get any important model-building done lately. I should really make time for it. Photos soon.

And now, then end is near
And so I face, the final posting
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, and award the ribbons

I've run a Campaign of fun
I've viewed each and every entry
Oh, and more, much more that this
I built it my way!

(apologies to Frank Sinatra)

But seriously, folks. The Group Build is at an end, and I thank each and every one of you for participating. There were some great builds going on, but I know how life is; and after all: it's just a hobby. Keep the shiny side up, and I look forward to seeing some good builds in future. Who knows, maybe there's a "Psychedelic Sixties" Group Build in the cards.

For those of you who are still working on their builds, please feel free to continue to post WIP & completion photos in this thread.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not a stash, then he has naught!
To build the things he truly feels,
To rivet counters, he does not kneel!
The record shows, my airbrushing blows (hehehehe)
And I did it MYYYYYYYYYYYYY WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY

Excellent work folks, both in the building and the wordsmithing.

Yet again real life has crushed my ability to complete a group build that really appealed to me, but rest assured that I will finish the 59 and post up here.

For the moment I will leave you all with some pictures that I took at a charity fundraiser car show here a couple of nights back. Enjoy!

59 Impala

60 Caddy (close enough)

and a couple of beautiful 57 Chevs

There were dozens of cars on display but I was too busy drooling and chatting to get good pics.

Rock on folks!

Cheers, D

Here is my Olds build, back underway...

The body is finished in Rustoleum spray metallic green with an overcoat of Testor's clear gloss.
Cheers!
