Thanks, guys.

Nice looking Interior, Richard. Guess the BMF really works.

Thanks Jim.
The few areas that need touch up are due to me not keeping my knife sharp, this is very important when cutting this thin material.

After seeing the mockup I can see using MM green zinc chromate with flat white accents of some sort and dullcote over both. I need to come up with something that will work with the stock trim. I thought about flat sky blue and the big inner trim panel flat white too. I'm looking for a photoshop-like app for my cell to get a better look, but nothing so far. The one that had an airbrush and filler function keeps crashing...

Red on and clear top coat on:-

On the weekend cadi should be ready to detail the trim with BMF.

Andrew, love the stance. I just looks angry!
Richard, looks great with some colour on now.
Roger, looking forward to following your little scratch build project there, very neat.

I'm getting very jealous guys, some great progress being made while my Caddy sits all lonely and neglected on the bench.

Hopefully I will get some time in the next week or so to move it along.

Cheers, D

Those land yachts are looking fantastic! My workbench is packed away at the moment, but lots of time left, I'm starting to doubt my choice of kit. My Olds is chromey but finless!
Carry on, gang!

That's one smooth looking Caddy.
Been busy with body work this week. This body has lots of problems. I hope it was a lemon as I want to buy another kit to build a pro mod someday. If anyone has this kit (AMT Christine) and could check out the body that would be helpful. On the body there were all these weird lumps and seams and there's a sinkhole in the trim on the body. Are there any tricks to fix low spots on parts like that?
The other day was another milestone for me; laid down some BMF. Pretty cool stuff! Can't wait to do all the trim.
Engine and chassis work was started awhile ago but I'm hoping to finish the ride height adjustments this weekend with swapped and reworked spindles for the front and lowering blocks in the rear. Should be reasonably realistic.

Andrew,
The body work and ride height are looking good in these photos.
Thanks for posting!

Thanks Sean! I may need to take a little off the rear tires to get that height again in the rear. Cheating, or normal wear and tear? lol

Andrew, the work you are putting in there is definitely paying off, it is looking great!

Richard, really nice paint job, coming together very well now.

I got some colour on the body of my Caddy tonight, Tamiya Acrylic Gloss Black, 3 good coats with about 20 minutes drying between each one. I will give it a light sand and an Acrylic Gloss coat to shine it up once it is cured.

Glad your build is moving along Damian!
Who will set up the photo gallery for this group build?
I will finish my entry in the next week.

Only site admin staff can set up the gallery, you will need to email Jim Starkweather as we still haven't seen any Automodeler admin for ages.

I sent a PM to Jim Starkweather a couple of days ago about the gallery, but I haven't heard anything yet.

It might be worth dropping a PM to Matt Leese (Username MATT) to see if he can set one up as well, he looks to be a site-wide Campaigns Administrator.

I have emailed Jim as well, offering to become Automodeller Campaign Admin since our resident admin hasn't been on the site since early 2015.

Hopefully we can get something moving either way.

Cheers, D

Edit: I just noticed that I have ticked over 5,000 posts recently and I'm now a Chief Master Sergeant. It doesn't seem like 7 years since I joined this site!

Got a bit of work done myself. Engine is almost done. Undercarriage is done part from the wheels.
What an amazing kit this is. Everyone should treat themselves with one of these jems.
