I just discovered that the oil tank I have been looking all over for is on the chrome sprue!

Rob, it is still a lucky find I spent 20 minutes yesterday looking for my air vent handle The sprue layouts are completely illogical when it comes about trucks (and MiniArt tanks).

Glazed surfaces added. Well, my sanding and preps didn't completely dealt with the waving, but at least they are clear (almost)




Preliminary test fits show that perhaps I'm going to be forced to glue the bonnet either shut either open. The second one it's a false option, because engine bay detailing it's not as good and storing will be a nightmare. So... shut she'll be:

Gabriel, looking good! I think you're proving Schubert's Law, it doesn't matter what the scale is, the fiddly bits are all the same size.

Well, Schubert is more genial than Einstein for sure because the relativity does not apply here . And on the annoyance scale those parts are scoring equally high

I have changes my mind about the build being stock. It will have a fuel injected hemi engine and trans from a Dodge Charger. Some other minor mods as well. Some to allow the engine install and some elsewhere.

Your Mack is looking really nice. Definitely has a Euro-flair to it.

It is that obvious? Yes, I removed almost all chrome from the truck and played my card on custom graphics, other than eagles stars and stripes

A couple of photos showing my slow progress. The engine and trany is a Dodge Hemi from a Lindberg Dodge Charger Super Bee kit. I am also going to use the seats as well. Just hope I can finish in time.

Some progress made on the pickup. The engine has been shoehorned into the engine bay. The dash from the Super Bee has been fitted. Still need to do something to cover the floor. Everything has just been dry fitted, no glue yet untilo I am satisfied with the complete project. This is pushing my skills as up until now all my models have been OOB's.

Here is my update:-





Italeri could not have looked a real Rotator when they built the molds for this one!
The two cylinders are multi stage mounted under the boom and only can be built raised.
I have scratch built two cylinders and am working on the boom mounts.

Here are more photos of my progress. Think the transplant of the Charger suspension to the truck frame. The Charger dash was fitted as well. The top needs to be touched up some.

I'm liking that undercarriage.

Rob, that dashboard has more switches and "clocks" than Milky Way stars. I bet you had a hell of a time Keep it up! It pays off!
