Speaking of things VW, does anyone have a paint match for the grey-blue which was so common on 1950s Beetles?

On my monitor 5007 or 5009 more closely match my 46 year old memories...
The first car I remember was a blue beetle. I used to climb over the back of the back seat and go to sleep in that storage bin that lived above the engine. The seats were that off-white champagne colour so common in the late '50s.

So, I had a Tamiya Opel Astra (DTM) hanging about and put it together... most of the original decals were cracked so I created my own Livery/Sponsor using some left over 1/144 Airliner decals for a German Airline company - TUIfly. Painted the car in their standard yellow and added the logos. I am piecing together other race decals and manufacturer markings from my spares box. The livery never particpated in the DTM races but if it did, I pictured it as this.

And one I finished - I have others but this was the latest... it was a pain because the Tamiya Laquer paint (TS) I used wouldn't stick... bad batch??? I stripped it 3 times - and finally done. Used Patto's Decals for the livery.

@ Hakan
That is some serious neat work on that trabbi. Looking forward to the finished project.
I have finished my entry. The project itself is not yet finished as it will end up to it's axles in mud in a dio. However I decided to post the pictures while this German beauty was still... well... a beauty.
Ladies and Gentlemen... The Mercedes 320 Cabrio Staffcar is finished.
It was really fun. Looking forward to the rest of the people to finish their rides.

...and still looking like a Cars character

I really like the well lived-in leather look you achieved with the seats.

Thanks for the replies and the compliments,

Don't you worry. In time you will see. The basis for the groundworks have already been made. Now gathering enough courage to sink it into mud and muddy waters.
@ Jessica.
Yeah it can't seem to shake that image off... Oh well... As said before. meet Lightning McQueen's Arch nemesis Carl Benz in Cars 3
I'm glad you like the leather seats. They probably would never have looked that way on the real car but I really like that look.
@ Hakan
Congrats on finishing that neat Trabbi. Great result.
