So, there was some interest in this thread about a possible 1950s Group Build: http://automodeler.kitmaker.net/forums/236115&page=1 Is there still interest? What time frame would work for those interested? I was thinking of a start time of Spring 2016 & finishing in the Fall 2016. I was also thinking it would be purely automotive (cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc.) with a Model Year of 1950 through 1959. Any takers?

I'm in. Have at least six 50's models to chose from. The Moebius Hudson hornet is most like the one to be build.

Well, that's our five! How is the proposed time frame for everyone? Also, if you have an idea for a Campaign Ribbon, let's see them.

Yeah, count me in for this subject and timeframe. Definitely!
I agree with Jesper that the Hornet is a good choice, but there are many others too. I'll see what's at the store.

There are quite a few choices. There's the Moebius Hudson Hornet, Revell 1957 Ford Custom police car, Revell 1950 Ford F1, the 1957 Chevy has already been mentioned. Lots of choices.

Oh man! … If there’s any way I can squeeze this campaign in, I’d love to take a trip down memory lane with the favorite car from my youth … the 1957 Chevy Nomad, pale yellow with a black top, sporting chrome Cragar mags!

Sounds like we have some interest. I'll "submit the paperwork", and get this rolling.
Now, you computer artistic types, let's see what sort of Campaign Ribbon we can come up with. I'm thinking something that would be very 1950s (short of Elvis or The Fonz
). Remember, we're talking about an genre here, and not a specific automobile. Big fins & chrome! Hey, how does that sound for a name?

Big Fins and Chrome!
I like that a lot. Ooh, that reminds me, I think there might be a 58 Impala kit lurking in the stash as well.
Decisions, decisions.
Time frame suits me fine.
Cheers, D

 Jim,Any time/dates suit me - I'll take what's given
.Not being one to follow the crowd and letting my overactive mind wander - so just confirming - something like a 1950's road roller would still be hunky-dory ?.
Cheers.

I think we're going to have a great Group Build.
Roger, yes, your road roller would be allowed if it was manufactured between 1950 & 1959.

Count me in. I like the 50's vehicles. Would trucks be counted. I am thinking a Mack b60 semi.

Darrell, trucks are ALWAYS welcomed. I'm looking forward to seeing your Mack. I was considering doing a Ford F8, but I'm not totally sure.

Damian: Bigger fins? don't think so. More chrome? perhaps the 1958 Olds

Lets send a varm thought to the memory of Harley Earl.

I don't think so, Damian. That 1959 Cadillac is right up there in the Big Fins & Chrome department.
Hopefully this Group Build will be approved soon. I haven't heard anything back yet.
