Westfield State College

Was still Westfield State Teachers College when I moved away. Completely on the other side of town from me. I was over near Barnes Field.

Rowan,
Sure hope that the day off, actually pans out for you.
Joel

Cheers Joel

I got a bit done on the chassis. The axles are only clipped in place so that I can remove them when I start painting:

After the hiccup with the engine, it all seems to be lining up OK now:

All the best

Engine together and added plug wires
Into the frame just to be sure everything is playing nice

Ok, so I haven't actually started construction on my 1948 Ford convertible, but I figured I'd post a photo of the body:

Some of you probably know where I'm going with this build, but here's a hint for those that might not: "Why this car is automatic, it's systematic, it's hydromatic. Why it's grease lightning!"

I'll probably start construction once I finish my 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air,

Great to see so much going on here!

Jonathan, I love the look of that old-school kit, I'm really keen to see how it builds up for you.

Gabriel, excellent attention to detail there, and you are correct, AMT need to have a good look at the fit and detail on this kit!

Mark, Good to see that you received the "Marilyn Monroe" add-ons for your build, looks good!

Rowan, the detail and fit on your build so far looks nice and crisp, glad you got the engine alignment sorted.

Mike, great detail work on the powerplant! It really looks neat and fits in nicely.

James, a true movie icon with some classic lines (the car and the song!), it will be great to follow your build on this one!

Well it looks like my cunning plan is working ok, primer coat of MS1500 Black will tell the honest truth!

Masking tape on the floor pan to maintain the bare styrene to cement the chassis in place after painting.

And getting organised for "Prime Time" once a few more little sanding and clean-up tasks are completed.

I have also settled on a colour combo.

The only thing different will be the flat black running board mats and roof panel.

Mike,
The engine with it's ignition wiring really looks quite good.

Is it THAT time already?!?!?

With three kits on the bench, I guess it's time for a fourth.

Legend MRAP, IBG AA Gun, AFV Club M109 Van.

Here's my entry to the campaign. AMT's Ford Louisville Delivery Truck. I purchased this second-hand (or was it third- or fouth-hand??). The frame has been started as has the engine. Will this be allowed?

David,

Apparently Round2 is planning on reissuing the LNT8000 dump, but they are looking for someone with the original box art so they can replicate it.

Mike,
No problem entering that kit for the GB. We're using a very flexible 25% started rule, and you're not even close to that.

Looking forward to seeing that Bad Boy cross the finish line, as I believe that's our 1st commercial truck build.

Mike, I’m really happy to see the heavy duty end of the Blue Oval spectrum being represented here as well, it will be great to see this coming together. I totally agree with Joel, no issues with submitting this one with the work already done. I would much rather see them built and on display than sitting in a box in storage!

Thanks Joel (and Damian)! I'm very much looking forward to building this. It's been a while since I built a truck.

Mike,

Looking great so far, and so quickly too.

Do you know if the chassis in the service body kit is the same as in the regular F-100 release?

And, on my non GB Raptor build I had to strip the primer. Will shoot it again tomorrow evening.

Thank you David.
This is the first Mobius vehicle kit i have done so i don't know if that is the case.If i was to guess i would say yes.
So far i'm impressed with the fit of this kit with the only issue was the frame was a little twisted but was easily fixed with a blow dryer and some gentle tweeking.
Hope the primer behaves for you this time

Primer down on the main parts. Still some work to fine-tune the body contour join lines, but I can move forward with some other sub assemblies while I tinker there.

Wow - lots of good work going on here!

Mike, your utility body is looking good, really looks the part - and Rowan, chassis looks square and true!

Damian, you are indeed the master body worker on this forum! You just keep saving builds!

Keep up the great work guys! I’m still making headway on my IMSA Mustang but traveling for work, so no posting for a while

Cheers

Mike, your service truck is coming together very nicely, you've chosen a perfect colour for this type of utility vehicle as well!

Nick, I haven't quite reached master status yet, but given the kits in my stash I'm getting plenty of practise and hopefully one day (when I grow up) I will make the grade!

Wow, I was trying to research factory standard interiors for my '51 coupe, ad look what I found.

I'm pretty sure ours still had the headlight rings, the hood closed, the paint wasn't peeling. And Rocket Raccoon hadn't torn out the interior. But that's the chrome rust I remember. Now all I need is a spare $2500 and a way to drag this ghost half-way across the country and I can have a 60 year old memory rusting in my driveway.

Mike,
the Service truck really is shaping up nicely. The color and clearcoats look pretty darn good. Not to mention that you're flying through your build. Plenty of time for you to build another Big Boy Ford.
