@WindySean: you're doing fine there with the interior. I'm sure you'll get a nice result. About the body: it's very difficult to get a shine out of the white - and this is my concern for my second model - yet to be built. For what I can see, your model's body looks already decent. I hope I'll have one like that as base for buffing.

Cheers!

I have my news: I finished the Mopar and I feel relived! I will gladly start the work on Camaro, but just now I get tangled with couple of Panzergrau kits... ya know, the 600+ parts ones

Here are the photos with the completed model:

Sean: Coming along fine there.

Gabriel: Beautiful bird. Any plans on painting the black parts of the Mag wheels?

Hi, Jesper!
Thank you for your kind words. But I wish to thank you even more for pointing that out. How could I overlook all the way that aspect?! Now I'm flabbergasted: Revell missed that one too. Here is the proof:

Those seem to be the original rims...
The five spoke version is also present, but almost certain (based on google photo research) only on retrofitted examples (i.e. Roadrunners converted to Superbird). I have nothing like that in my (thin) stash...
I may have some custom chrome spares from Hasegawa (I doubt they'll fit) or I could cut the installed wheels and repaint them magnesium...
Yet I cannot believe I miss that! Jesper, when the wind blows you first in Caribbean, the drinks are on the house

Engine looks great.

Roger, Jesper. Indeed, most of examples ran out with Magnums 500 - (phew!). Only the spare wheel was stamped steel body color (!). I still need to carve some holes into the wheels but that will be easy. Thanks again for the poke

@ Richard: Thank you, sir. Deeply appreciated kind words.
@ Chester: Thank you, buddy. As Jesper pointed very well out, I'm not finished YET.
Thank you very much to you all guys. Your appreciation and help means huge to me.

Cheers!

Well, I'm off to the races. It occurs to me that I haven't built a car model since 1969. I'll start with the '69 Camaro.

It's been so long, I'm bound to mess something up, but, who's gonna notice, it's a Chevy.

Now that I'm into the build, the screw-assembly is actually kind of fun. I've got working steering!

Was there mention of any ribbon ideas? The Campaign page lists the ribbon as pending still.
Hmmm. Something Mopar and Bowtie. What was the first ribbon?

Sean, you said you didn't want to worry about a light bar for the top of the Charger, but if you change your mind later on let me know. Bob (old dragon) showed me how to make one a few years ago for under a buck, really easy.

Alright, I've reached that part of the build. What's the secret? I was thinking I'd build a clear styrene box and scribe and paint it from inside. Am I close?
thanks in advance,
Sean

Moving along. Here she is with all the kit parts attached, and custom decals on. The kit had the computer and the light rack base, but not the clear parts for the police lights in this boxing. I just have to add a scratchbuilt push bar and light bar. I had a spotlight in my spares (a common customization in the 1960's, I guess.)

Between the metal body, and rubbery plastic material, and made to be snap-together, I used a variety of adhesives. It weighs a ton, and I worry. It's like a real Dodge-- Beautiful, aggressive styling, but one touch and all of the parts will fall off.
Cheers!

progress on the Camaro. first car kit in 45 years. It's a bit different than aircraft.

I think I've almost nailed that back seat.

Hi folks, part-time Group Build leader here with absolutely NO PROGRESS to report. Very sad tale of real life ambushing me every time I think I can sneak an hour or two!

Gabriel, awesome work! Very clean build considering the fit issues that you had along the way, looks great (for a MOPAR that is).

Sean, you've done an awesome job on the Dodge, the markings look spot on.

Mark, great start. It's inevitable now that you will see the superiority of the Chev as you progress on this build.

Now I have to report a very sad event. I visited a friend of mine who wanted to show me his new toy. I was completely unaware that he had suffered a serious brain injury at some stage which has obviously completely destroyed any sense of good taste. I turned up at his house to find a 1974 Dodge Challenger sitting in the driveway, 360 powerplant, 4-barrel carb, HotWheels looking rims, hideous orange paint, a very sad state of affairs indeed. I have been talking to his wife and together we have almost convinced him to start on a course of therapy with the local shrink.

Anybody else have a friend in such desperate need of psychological treatment?

Cheers, D

Thank you, Damian. Yeah, I ended up liking (a little) that Superbird. Love is blind, they're saying.

I am deeply sorry for your friend... He needs your help more than ever: show him the way!

Gabriel.
