From an "Old Chevy" guy until I came out of the service in '87, y'all need to face facts. In real life, which motor is easiest to tune; A 2nd gen. Hemi 426(and not one of those fakey-doo ones they put out now), a Rat 454, or a Gorilla 460? Obviously the 460 because the distributor is right up front.
Even though I love 'em all, life is better in the Blue Oval camp.

Obviously, the Ford engineers put the distributor up front, because they knew how frequently the engine would need to be tuned.
At least that's what I heard.

Hiya folks, picked this one up ridiculously cheap on eBay, I'll use it to try out some paint ideas I have for our Chevy (vs other junk) Campaign.

Gotta find some decent rims and rubber for it, those pizza-cutters look very sad.
Cheers, D

If you have that 1:32 Monogram Chevy Malibu police car, I'd say build it, snap kit or not!

I just grabbed this to test out some paints as a warm-up, not for the group build Mark. I think I would be laughed out of court if I tried that one !!

While trying to make time to get anything completed, I rented a new Silverado to drive the kids up to my Mom's outside of Killeen. Taking about 4 1/2 hours with no Department of Public Safety involvement, I figured that I needed to try at least 2 different routes for the lovely Texas scenery. I hatched a new plan (as stupid as I am) outside of the thriving metropolis of Rogers (don't blink or you'll miss it). Since I'm expecting (hoping) my financial planets will align before this campaign kicks off, and no scale was specified... I'm thinking about a Revellogram 1/25 Dogged Hemi whatever and a 1/1 '47 Chevy Aeromaster Coupe with a healthy Rat motor. I found the Aeromaster and it definitely needs a lot of love (and a drivetrain, interior, glass, part of the floorpan, and a Right Rear Fender). Rule-bending on a grand or stupid scale.

My guess is that it would be easier, cheaper and faster if you just built every car model at the LHS.
Good luck with the 1:1,

Dude, that's not even funny. What the hell are we supposed to say to that unless someone here owns a vintage 71' HemiCuda'.
Hermon
ps: Please God, let someone here own a real 71' HemiCuda'.

Wish I had a hemi, closest I can get is a '97 Ram 1500 Pick up with a small V8.

My daily ride is a Kia, probably couldn't afford the gas in a hemi for my daily commute.
Will this help?

Hey Mark, I worked at VW in the "Pre-Owned" side in 2008 when the gas was $3.50 gal. (here only, evidently around $4.50 for everybody else in the US) and I distinctly remember 3 "Hemi" truck trade-ins. One guy had bought his 6 months before and was upside down by $12,000. I sold him a 2002 Jetta TDI with 114,000mi. and he literally stopped thanking me the next day when I told him that he didn't need to call me anymore, I understood.
I understood (as I ramble on) because I had just finished my '66 Continental. It was a pig from the factory but, in my infinite stupidity, I pulled the 462/first year C-6 and dropped in a 460/C-6 from a '75 LTD after beefing up the tranny and stroking the motor to 557ci for bragging rights. It was almost un-driveable and I could get on a freeway and watch the gas gauge move (not kidding). Of course, the flip side was that I've been the only owner of a car that sported 9.1l badges that I've ever seen.
Sorry guys. We live in the country and the kids are tired of hearing my stories stating that they lived through 'em and are urgently needed on Facebook.
If you can't or don't want to use a snap-kit here, why not use it for Hermon's EOD campaign? 1/32nd and leftovers from 1/35th armor kits would probably work well, and it uses up at least a couple of parts you'll find a use for in 6 months.

OK, the 1/1 Aerocoupe is out for now. I ran across a guy close by who has a late '50's Chrysler Imperial, a '59 Caddy, and a '63 T-bird, all garaged, all in parts. He evidently doesn't want to play with them anymore and may be willing to work a deal.
So, I picked up a Revell '66 El Camino to cover the Chev aspect. I'm ready to go when y'all are,
Charlie
