1. Run Time March 1 2011 to March 1 2012 (Date applies to your local time)
2. Manufacturer Based - Chev/Pontiac vs Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge
3. Any scale, any era, stock/street/mild/wild allowed
4. OOB or modified allowed
5. Any number of builds allowed, just one ribbon per person
6. VonCuda and I are Co-leaders, since we get along so well. If one of us is absent, the other will make any calls required
7. Sniping is allowed (in fact required), but if it gets personal Hermon and I will come down HARD
8. All enlisted MUST relax, have fun and enjoy their builds

A quick question regarding #2. Is any engine allowed, as long as it is either a Chevy, Pontiac, or Mopar? If I want to build a Chevy Stovebolt, or a Mopar Slant Six, are they allowed, or are we only concentrating on big blocks?

Hi Yoni, I hadn't even thought about 6-packs, but I don't have any problems there.

all. Mighty quiet here since OTR started up !!

Or have you Hemiphiles admitted defeat and joined the side of righteousness and light (and bourbon) ??

No matter, I've submitted the request for this Group Build to Matt today, so stay tuned !!

Cheers, D

Now, back to the Blitz for OTR before I get in trouble.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!{yelling}....there not quiet any more.
Sorry about the OTR thing
I have my car all set in my mind, just waiting on the donar engine kit to "rearrive"...ya gotta love ebay sellers who post a pick of one kit with the motor you want and then sending you another kit with a different motor but same car and not understanding that you bought the auction kit for "that" motor, not the one you sent. There should be rules against that!

How about a combo chuvy and mopar banner side by side?
Awh shoot, the wife just yelled that I got a package....that would be my iron man kit that's top be set next to my red knight of vienna{old school and new iron men}. Yup, it is....Now how do I light this puppy?!...

Hmmm. Now that the Chrysler / Chevy thing has been finalized, I would like to remind everyone of two of the fastest production vehicles built after the "Muscle Car " era. Numero uno is the 78 Little red Wagon W/ a 360. And the 87-88 model of the Buick GN W/ a 3.8 stage II set-up. Get this, the second one was around 270 lbs lighter than a Vette! Hummmmmm. Anyway let's see what other mindless driv-vel I can come up w/ before dashing off to Eod to add more? Cya

How fast was the red wagon compared to the '86 GLH turbo{4cylinder!} in the 1340'?...mine beat 5.0 LX's{lighter than the GT} by a car 9 times outta 10.

If I remember right ( subject to debate/ denial), a stock LRW posted 15.09 slip. The the GN was doing it @ 14.98. Both were random fleet/press vehicles

The non intercooled GLH's hit the 16.08 mark as I recall.

@ Mark - when I'm in the NW, I'm in north end of Seattle. We're not that far from each other.

@ Hermon - Hey, I was looking at the pics of your stash posted earlier in the thread, and I noticed that you had the "new" Revell '70 Challenger hidden away there. Have you built one of these yet?

Yoni, if you're in Seattle on a "First Thursday"* drop by the Museum of Flight and visit with the North West Scale Modelers. It's a determinedly disorganized group of modelers who meet in the Old Red Barn and show off our latest builds. Mostly A/C but a few car and afv folks.

*Check dates, sometimes First Thursday is the second Thursday and one time this summer, it’s supposed to be Wednesday. Told you we were disorganized.

Thanks Matt. I suppose it's fitting that I'm first to enlist.

This is gunna be great fun, and I have no doubt that both sides of this battle will fight to the bitter death.

Please start posting some pics of your proposed build kits so the slanging match can continue

I'm signed up and ready to go! I think I'll be kind of boring and build what's in my garage...the wife's grocery getter and my youngest sons college commuter. And of course, one of those Dodge cars with my own little touch

...spose pics would be helpful huh?
Option 1-

A street clone of Richard Petty's 1972 Satellite racer. I really wanted to do that with the car I had..now's my chance I guess. Motovation might be a 426 hemi in place of the 400.
Just gotta figure out what's a good Petty blue?
Option 2-

Bu Bu Bu Bu Bu Bad....Bad to the bone 1957 Fury{Christine}. It had a crummy paint job...it's nearly stripped off now. Power would be as per the movie, a dual quad 392 hemi. Hmmm, what happened to buddy reparton's chevy camero?

well...that should get Hermon back

I may have to actually go out and get a car to build for this. I haven't done a non-militaty 4 wheel vehicle in well over 40 years.....

@ Mark - Hey, thanks for the invite. I'll send you a PM next time I'm available for a Thursday meeting.

@ Bob - Is that Fury a resin body? Also, MCW carries the Petty Blue paint, if you want to go that route.

-Damian, I like that banner..even the way it sits{but that's me}

-Yoni, thanks for the paint color reference! Oh, the Fury is an R&R resin kit I've had for years...just got my amt '57 300c kit today so it'll have a nice engine bay, engine and running gear. It's been on my list to redo for a while...gonna be now or later...where's my coin to flip?

* Tell you what, I'll let Hermon and Damian decide which of my two kits shown I should build.......hermon where are you..I left you a trashed camero reference and your not jumping on it!
